WoW Player Hits 60, Still Faction-Neutral

A couple days ago, a World of Warcraft player announced that their treasured pandaren just hit level 56–without leaving the Wandering Isle. “Doubleagent,” now a level 60 pandaren shaman, aptly bears the in-game title “the Insane.” When you read how the persistent panda did it, you might see how the title sticks.

The character was created in 2012, and at the time of Doubleagent’s post, the pandaren had just hit level 56. And, in all that time, its furry feet never left home. Doubleagent writes:

I never left [the Wandering Isle], If I had you wouldn’t be able to message me If I was Horde or Alliance. The only two options I have to gain experience at this point is via herbalism or mining. I opted out of mining since it shifts me out of wolf form, and picked up inscription to turn my herbs into inks in which I can vendor for 1 gold a stack.

Since the character is still faction-neutral, Doubleagent’s leveling outlook is bleak. None of the faction-related methods are available, including dungeons, battlegrounds, and pet battles. Furthermore, the Wandering Isle has no tamable pets of its own and lacks archaeology dig sites for a bit of extra experience.

Did I mention he isn’t wearing heirlooms, either? Yeah. No heirlooms. Check his WoW Armory profile if you don’t believe it.

To pass the time, the player spent the hours between levels doing all the usual things:

I…multi-task while running around gathering whether it’s Facebook, browsing the web, or watching TV shows/movies. Thing is I refuse to level any once I run out of rested XP which is few and far between nowadays since it takes so long to reach a new level it’s almost always rested.

In case you’ve never had the rare opportunity to see a leveled pandaren hobbling around the Wandering Isle, five YouTube videos are available in the player’s thread for proof. Here’s the latest one to get you started:

So, if you’re looking for something new to do while you wait on patch 5.4’s release or just want to get some hard-earned shits ‘n’ giggles, why not try out the pandaren leveling challenge for yourself? In the wise words of a patient, learned pandaren, “For the neutral!”
