Community Manager Lore posted that the A Test of Valor quest will be removed in 6.0, and that item upgrades will cost Lesser Charms of Good Fortune instead of Valor or Justice Points. As a couple posters have mentioned, we’re planning to remove the Test of Valor step from the Legendary chain.Regarding item upgrades, those are being converted to use Lesser Charms of Good Fortune as currency instead of Justice or Valor. (Source) A Test of Valor–just one quest in a string of many for the legendary quest chain that rewards a legendary cloak, meta gem, and more–currently requires players to collect 3000 Valor Points to complete. While not nearly as much as 6000 points–which it required before patch 5.3–the quest still takes at least two weeks worth of resets due to the Valor cap. With Warlords of Draenor just around the corner, this will be a good chance to snag ...

After a dominant run through the opposition, Aleksandr “Kolento” Malsh is crowned VGVN #2 champion. The Ukrainian went 3-0 in the group stage then scored a cumulative 8-2 in the playoffs to take home the lion’s share of the $2,500 prize pool. Denied the Millenium M-House Cup trophy in late June by Amaz, Kolento finally claimed his first ever tournament win on Sunday August 31st. Placed in Group B with Trump, Xixo and Realz, Kolento finished with a score of 3-0 (9-2 in games), and entered the playoffs as a top seed. A decisive victory against ThijsNL (4-1) in the Semifinals on the back of his Druid and Shaman decks, set the stage for the grand finals against Hyped. Just as his competitor fell before him, Hyped was dealt a 1-4 defeat leaving Kolento with a 17-4 record over the 3 day tournament. Two of the top ranked players in Europe and North America, Kolento and Hyped are each seeded top 16 for the upcoming BlizzCon ...

WatcherDev confirmed that raid tier gear tokens will no longer require players to turn them in at a vendor for their relevant items. Similar to gear tokens acquired on the Timeless Isle, Warlords of Draenor raid tier gear will be attainable “on the spot”: @RhoWoW @MeaganTC They will work that way in Warlords. No more vendors – you can get your set piece on the spot. — Watcher (@WatcherDev) September 1, 2014 It is unclear whether these tokens will be broken up only according to class for the current tier or behave more like Timeless Isle tokens. Before token usage, Timeless Isle gear is known only by its armor type–upon usage, the token is then converted randomly into a class-specific item of the represented slot. However, since that would really make acquiring raid loot drops (and possibly trading them with your raid buddies) a pain, it seems highly unlikely that this would be the ...

Sorry folks, unfortunately we’ll have to skip this week’s episode of BlizzPro Weekly. Our head writer JR is busy at DragonCon (embarrassing pictures are sure to be posted), and our production guru behind the camera, Paul, just became a dad (drop in sound file “Cheering Crowd Sound.wav” in post)! We’re not entirely sure what Chris Arnone’s excuse is; surely that magnificent beard of his could have compensated for the other two absent individuals on our production team… Happy Labor Day weekend! We will celebrate by not working on a show this week....

Treasure Goblin Farming Route

by Hotstreak on

Hello everyone! In light of the new Treasure Vault Dungeon and the Treasure Goblin Community Buff, I thought it would be fun to put together a post going over a short and sweet Goblin farming route. This route contains three areas that are relatively small and easy to run through, so let’s get into it! But keep in mind that the Treasure Vault isn’t a 100% spawn and only has a chance to spawn from slain Treasure Goblins. Act I – Halls of Agony Level 2 Halls of Agony Level 2 contains a guaranteed Treasure Goblin spawn somewhere in the level. But Halls of Agony 2 isn’t a very big tile set so it’s very easy to quickly run through and hunt down your pair of Goblins. Be sure to check every single room and corner because these little guys have no limit to where they can spawn. Act II – ...

Blizzard released a blog today detailing their project with Ryan (creator of Gameheart) to add many of the features of the Gameheart interface into the game. For those who may not be familiar with Gameheart, it’s a 3rd party project that was created to enhance the viewer experience for both casters and spectators allowing for more details to be seen in game, lessen chances of critical moments being missed, and allowing greater exposure of teams and their sponsors. Gameheart also was crowd funded last year to help redesign it as well. The Gameheart project is looking to be added in pieces into StarCraft II, with some being added into the extension mod feature (released with 2.1), some into the game itself, and others as an observer mod (which can all be used in conjunction with each other).  The blog post over at Blizzard’s site details some of what’s to come ...

Episode 28: Warlords Release Date! Good news, everyone! We have a release date! Warlords of Draenor is slated to go live on November 13, 2014! Which Edge crew member had the closest guess? Will did! Speaking of release dates, Matt went into further detail discussing the raid release schedule. That leaves about two and a half weeks to level to 100. Is that enough time? Is it too little or too much? One of the newest features in Warlords is the Group Finder. Will offers his take on the new feature and what it means for players and how they handle group content. Will thinks that it’ll be a new game changing feature that will seed widespread use and could even revitalize the raiding community! Finally, we touch on the topic of the final boss in Warlords of Draenor. Some players are a little miffed that it’s been revealed as Grom ...
