Books have often been society’s only bastion of light for passing along knowledge that would otherwise be lost to time or convoluted by the oral tradition. In order to provide new and old adventurers with as much knowledge of what to expect on their journey in Sanctuary, we created this tome of knowledge – Ars Arcanum. We will regularly feature a Legendary weapon or armor piece, discussing its stand-alone powers and capabilities, as well as how it may synergize with new builds or other items. Last week’s Tavern Talk already seems like a distant memory. What it provided in the way of riling up some members of the community shouldn’t overshadow the amazing things coming in Patch 2.2.0. During the talk, John Yang often used the redesigned Obsidian Ring of the Zodiac as an example of how they’re trying to take rings to the next level. By adding incredible powers to ...

A new round of patch notes for Hearthstone have been posted and there are some doozies in here. General The following card back has been added: Classic Card Back: Remastered—We’ve re-visited the Classic Hearthstone card back and have given it a painstaking HD update. Acquire the new card back by reaching Rank 20 during the Ranked Play season. We’ve implemented a new card type, Ninjas, which ALWAYS beat Pirate cards! We’ve added a new feature called Harrison Jones’ Museum! Accessing it will allow you to gaze proudly upon all the weapons you’ve put in the museum, where they belong. Mistress of Pain has turned over a new leaf and is now called Mistress of Uncomfortableness. Crush has been renamed to Big Gross Demon Foot. Card packs can now be opened by blowing gently on the screen. Alexstrasza will no longer say anything upon being played because she’s tired of being ...

We have seen the StarCraft and Heroes of the Storm April Fools jokes, now it’s time for Warcraft. Sadly enough, I think this would have been a real feature when 6.1 was released as it would have fit in with their whole SELFIE and twitter integration junk they decided to add to the game. Luckily though, it’s just a typical April Fools Day joke instead. You can read more about this upcoming Garrison feature below....

April Fools: Big Head Mode

by JR Cook on

Here’s an April Fools Day joke that is actually playable. Big Head Mode is now active in Heroes of the Storm. You’ll only see the heroes have big heads once you enter a battleground and then in the hero select you’ll only see the big heads for the heroes you have met in the battlegrounds. Chances are this will only be active today as it is a little bit annoying to play with and there is no way to shut it off. However, it’s pretty funny and also fun to see the Heroes with the huge heads. It’s even more fun to go through all the skins and see how they look. Of course, this does have some players upset about it, and I bet those people are totally awesome at parties and really enjoy fun things… Check out the screenshot I took after our match and read the blog ...

April Fools: Spear of Adun

by JR Cook on

The day that the entire internet becomes a useless piece of crap is now here, and as always (well, except for the year they decided not to) Blizzard is participating. First up today is the StarCraft April Fools where they claim you can purchase the Spear of Adun, a real Protoss arkship. Best thing is, it’s even on sale! Now instead of paying $9,999,999 you can get it for the low price of $9,999,998 on the Blizzard Gear store. Too bad it’s out of stock though. Never fear though, the estimated completion date on this thing is the year 2315, but since this is Blizzard you can probably expect it around 2412 instead. Check out the full blog post here for more information on the Spear of Adun:...

March 31st Hotfixes

by pallimmanis on

Rygarius posted the most recent round of hotfixes this evening, and it looks like he’s changed the format a bit. Current hotfixes are listed at the top of the blog and, after the next update, moved into the general section which is broken down by subject. All that being said, let’s look at the list of tonight’s fixes....

What To Expect From Season 3

by Stephen Stewart on

While we’ve been covering all of the Patch 2.2.0 goodness for you along the way as the Patch Test Realm ambled along, the good folks over at Blizzard have rustled up a one-stop-shop for all of your Season 3 needs. Their latest blog post details exactly what you can expect from Season 3: the two Legendary Gems exclusive to the season; Legendary items exclusive to the season; and of course, the five Conquests that you’ll be aiming to get as soon as possible after the season goes live. I’m particularly fond of the On A Good Day one, especially for Hardcore, since I can see players trying to rush to Greater Rift 39 only to get smacked down in a moment of bad judgment. There are other excellent things to look forward to as well, so continue below to read the full synopsis:...

Last Week on BlizzPro

by JR Cook on

One of the things I love about our BlizzPro team is all of the work and dedication that is put into the site by multiple volunteers. We have several people who have committed to writing at least 1 feature a week and because of them there is quite a bit of original content that can be found across our sites this week. This is my attempt at making sure they get highlighted so from here on out we’ll be recapping all the things we wrote in the last week. It’s been a pretty crazy week covering Blizzard Entertainment news and the hits just keep coming. We have the WoW token releasing this week, Blackrock Mountain releases April 2nd, StarCraft Legacy of the Void beta is supposed to hit today, Heroes of the Storm had a major patch last week and Diablo 3 will have a major patch next week. We ...

Good luck in the Nexus! Free heroes for this week are:...

Legacy of the Void Beta Hype

Episode 69: Legacy of the Void Beta Hype Articles Discussed PVP Damage Reduction Hotfix Reverted BRF Item Level Increase Season 2 Ending Legacy of the Void Beta Sylvanas Week XP Boost New Skins Overwatch Interview Blackrock Mountain Preorders New Cards Revealed...

In an interview with Polygon, Overwatch director Jeff Kaplan talked somewhat more specifically about how the game rose from the ashes of the Titan project, but also how Blizzard’s current game offerings have had an impact on how it’s gone so far. Something that surprised me coming out of this article is how hard Kaplan is working to drive home the point that Overwatch is not just a piece of the intended Titan experience spun out into its own game, but instead something built from scratch that only took some design lessons learned by the Titan dev team. Another interesting note came from how the team is starting to consider the esports possibilities of the game. Kaplan tells a story about how the Overwatch QA team took funds intended for a party and instead threw an in-house tournament for the game. This was apparently a turning point in how Blizzard thought about the game, which then laid the ...

Blizzard announced today that the closed beta for Legacy of the Void will be kicking off March 31st, and among other things, Archon Mode will be one of their first test objectives as soon as the test begins. Hearing the line that the beta will start off with more rough edges and “run for a longer period of time than usual” is very interesting to hear, since it gives the impression that the beta will be longer than the six month periods that both Wings of Liberty and Heart of the Swarm received. That being the case, we might not see the release of Legacy of the Void until shortly before or after BlizzCon this year. Just when you thought Blizzard learned their lesson of having their convention and a product release push at the same time… ah well. We’ll see. Read the full blog below. The Beta is near… ...
