Chris Hardwick “The Nerdist” to Host BlizzCon (According to Jay Mohr)

by - 10 years ago

It seemed like every year there was a BlizzCon, there would be Jay Mohr hosting the show. Some fans enjoyed him, many fans reviled him.

To be fair, his first year he was terrible. He wasn’t one of us, he wasn’t a gamer and didn’t understand the culture and made terrible jokes. However, he learned from it and got better the next year and made it a point to understand this community and what it’s about. However, Jay Mohr would never be accepted as “one of us” and therefore would always be reviled by fans for his work at BlizzCon.

Things have changed though, this year, Jay Mohr won’t be hosting BlizzCon.

When asked on Twitter if he would be, he responded that he would not be there this year and he would check who would be doing the hosting duties:

It looks like we’ll be getting Chris Hardwick – also known as The Nerdist.

This should go over well with fans because Chris Hardwick is “one of us”, he’s famous because of that. He’s a geek, he’s a gamer, and he’s funny as hell. He gets it and because of that he’s a great pick for hosting BlizzCon.

Blizzard has not confirmed one way or the other who will be hosting BlizzCon this year. This is purely speculation based on what Jay Mohr said on his personal Twitter account.

My dream host would be Conan O Brien! He did great last year @ Blizzcon =) Glad Jay is out. I cringed everytime he took the stage and tried to get the crowd going.
